All quiet on the Palmnet activity front...But for how long

Well, as the title might have suggested, not much has really been going on down in Palmnet town.
However I do have a few bits of news:
  • Shoutbox code
  • Well, MNAH is starting to look like it might live up to its name again.
However! Although I may have exams coming up, I also have a half term too and study leave.
I know that this time is supposed to be spent on studying but, lets face it, I won't pass even if I do study! So I might as well start working on the joys of an OSS project again :)

  • College work
  • As mentioned above I have exams coming up. So don't expect me to be about all that much, and when I am about I'm likely to be working on MNAH, sleeping, eating ot making an attempt to revise so it looks like I at least made some sort of effort towards the exams.

  • Ascii art generator
  • Well it actually went down quite well!
I don't quite know why anyone think's its that good, but I have also had some complaints on it. So, I want to also fit in some updates to that when I can. Possibly implement the edgetracer again.
Windy, fi you read this feel free to start calling me 'EdgeHunter' again XD

  • New scripts
  • I have a few little scripts I would like to get done. However, I also would like to move away from PHP a bit if I can.
Scripting for online tools is fun and all but I miss the days of making silly little programs and games that weren't so...static.
Who knows, I may even finish off the Palmnet Software site!

  • MP3 Player issues
  • I'm also not in a good mood. Especially when it comes to Sandisk and their product warrenties ¬_¬
Click HERE for some images of why I might not like Sandisk so much.
Bear in mind their warranty states that physical damage voids the warranty, also, they don't do repairs either!

  • Site updates
  • Lastly, Site updates.
Recently I've had a few security issues. I found the root of the problem: My shoddy coding!
Basically, when I released the main design/site and such I did it all within an evening.
I also never tested anything or checked my code >.< But that's all fixed now.
However, I want to add some new features to the system. Make things better. Check my code and such.
If you spot any errors with the site and they persist for more than 10 minutes then please use the contact page and tell me about them as I probably haven't gotten round to that error yet!

Shoutboxes: MNAH - Starting work again

Well, "Title says it all", as one might say if we were on Digg. But then we'd also have 50 Soviet Russia 'jokes' too, and perhaps an 'All your base' quip too. Thankfully my blog != Digg, so we're safe from mentally challenged commenter's :D

Anyway, where was I?
Oh yes, shoutboxes, remember those? Well I promised the next version would be started ages ago, but then college and life in general got in the way. However I suddenly have the urge to do something productive again, so here's the post!

Codenamed 'MNAH', standing for 'May Never Actually Happen', this version is set to be a major improvement on previous versions. If it ever actually gets released that is.
I setup a page on the wiki so me and Phil and various other folks can track the work, suggest things and so I can basically keep track of whats going on too.
So far it's still being planned, but a big todo list has been made, not public on the wiki yet though, and some feasibility testing has started too for some of the items on my todo list.

Anyway, if anyone here has a spare moment or two in their lives, reads this blog, and knows some PHP or has some graphic design skills, feel free to contact me: http://www.palmnet.me.uk/contact
