Long time no post

Well I have been a bit down lately. So havent had much time recently that I could spend doing something constructive. Well, I've had the time, but have been depressed and allmost on the verge of...."emo"!
So anyway, I hope soon to release an update to the shoutbox system, update the gaia bar site, and do some code for delta cms, so stay tuned.
Also, getting my pc turned into a server, so that way I might be able to host a few ruby things if I can ^^

New tool and updates

Well, I keep learning new things!
Tonight I have learnt a load of ruby, got a new IDE for ruby, php and python and more, but those 3 I'll play with.
It's rather nifty, Komodo is it's name, very pricey for the full version though.
Anyway, as for the new tool: Google+ I call it. Basically help's you use google to do 2 nifty things, so far its just mp3 searches and a proxy, but I'll try add book searches and cctv.....
I also did some fixes to the Help Me! system too!
Oh, and I broke, and now fixed the shoutbox system, so feel free to shout in my box once more!

New mp3 player for me!

Well life has been down recently, but today it picked up a bit with the arrival of my sandisk sansa e270! Courtesy of Phil, who ordered it from amazon due to my lack of a debit card.
It looks cool:
Clcik here for images
It feels good, only had one crash so far, thanks to my laptop crashing while I transferred 4gig of files over >.< Soon fixed.
So my review: cool.
Best mp3 player I've handled, only awkward bit is the buttons round the glowy blue dial, can but a bit tricky to hit without scrolling to another option :S
But sound quality is top notch. Screen is also woo. Oh, and the general look is awesome, as I might have mentioned before. It's truely sex incarnate, in a plastic form...with a Liquidmetal back of course!
Oh, worst part of it? The neck lanyard, a piece of plastic rubbish, tacky as Blackpool.

Shoutbox system gone opensource!

Yup, you heard it here....second actually, but none the less you heard it here!
I made the guts, Phil made it pretty :)
Our usual team effort queezed out THIS.
There is all sorts of info HERE on the google project page.
Oh, and a gaia guide HERE!
Any tip's and advice for the look, skyle, install, managment, or anything, would be greatly appreciated.

WLCD updates

Well, I decided to shorten the "Windows running live off a CD" to WLCD.
I did some updates to it this evening, as I do every night. But tonights build has only had one error! Woo yay!
Especially when that error is now fixed, but would only concern me and one other guy I know, it's all in the past.
I also built some nifty command line apps to change colours, because over in england we spell it "colour". Also a readme app and I updates the batch file I made to make the iso files for burning.
Tonight however I have mainly been messing with using app's off the hard drive, to see which ones run and which dont.
Here is a series of screenies of 0.13b Running various things. All programs ran smooth, fast, no errors. All good ^^
And as you can see in the "small.jpg" I got it down to a very light OS with 6 processes running. 6! In windows. 6!!!! And it still worked ok! Would have been 5 too if I had closed the task manager.
Hope to get some more info up soon!

End of the holidays

Well, I start back at college on wednesday, so tomoro will be my last free day. And typical, work from 5-8. Joy.
Anyway, as college starts I guess there'll be alot of changes so give me a week or so to get back on my feet with all my stuff sorted out again.
Anyway, on other news, I did some more fixes to the windows cd, and have been messing in php some more, so I hope when I get started on the major work for delta cms I'll know what I'm doing now. Or at least have a slight idea as to what I'm doing >.<

Chilled day, and flash stuff

Well today has been rather chilled and easy going.
The sun is out, its warm, generally a nice day.
Anyway, some guy was asking about flash, and even though I'm not the greatest I helped him out by just one google search. But then he started asking more and more, so I tried to help him, and in the end, I actually got some cool thing in flash to work!
Well, I say cool, it's utterly pointless, like most things I make, but the fact it works is allways a good sign.
Anyway, I'll try and make it into something cool, like I did with the bouncing box into the flash thingy int he downloads!

Also I made http://sandbox.palmnet.me.uk/helpme/ so I can tell non googling noobs to ask there, it's just an "I'm feeling lucky" from google redirect, but people wont know that!

Windows on CD...

Well, I haven't done much code work to anything but my latest sub-project.
Making bootable live cd's running windows.
Now this is no easy task, and has taken me many builds so far I'm upto build 10, which is burning now...
Anyway, I doubt I can make this any kind of public download as it's mostly microsoft stuff on the cd, which allthough it's easy to work with and dev for on my windows pc, is hard to re-distribute >.<
Anyway, I hope to post up some scrrenies of what I have so far soonish as It's looking better each time I do a build :)
Click here to see how it looked last night.
Well I made the new build, still a few minor bugs and lots to add in, but here are some screens of the latest build.

It's late night coding time!

Well, not now, but last night it was.
And being the foolish person I am, I go to edit Delta CMS, only to realise I never got the latest version off Phil's PC from friday morning! IDIOT!
Anyway I decided rather than update stuff on this blog as It's soon to be obselete, hopefully, I would update the Quest bar website.
I did many things and also learnt alot that'll help with the new CMS, go check out the latest news here.

24hour Code-a-thon Results

Well It's now sunday, and thus I have recovered from Thursday/Friday's epic code-a-thon.
The night went well, apart from a few major problems.
The main one being we lost the internet connection, the the webcam feed was lost and no testing of our code could be done, so we just planned and designed it's features.
But never fear, the webcam stayed on, capturing images for a full 24 hours, which we then encoded to video using a program I wrote and had to edit, during the code-a-thon, and uploaded later to Google video's.
Anyway, much fun was had, and allthought Adam Cosnett couldn't make it, Thomas Vickers from Monkeytainment joined us for a bit and many a game of Doom 2/Nexuiz was had over the LAN we setup.
Expect some more progress updates soon as we begin the long task of coding all our half planned ideas into reality!
