Yup, Mr. Wim, the guy who coded pretty much everything you see before you on this site, has got his new site running.

New pointless tool that is
Anyway, a person on B3ta Sparked my bored mind with a mention of making a tool to make that clippy thing from office say random stuff.
So I stepped up!
Basically you goto < href="http://sandbox.palmnet.me.uk/clippy">http://sandbox.palmnet.me.uk/clippy and put "/" and then whatever you like after that. Like you would if going to a folder named what you want clippy to say.
So "http://sandbox.palmnet.me.uk/clippy/It appears you are writing a letter" Will result in this image:

Evolution Group updates

Well I updated the Evolution Group blog a little today.
Sorted out some spam filtering, changed blogs, settings and even the header image!
So any Evolution Group work I'll be doing from now on will be posted there, however all my normal stuff will continue to be put up here too

Well it's just gone 2am Christmas morning here, just a quick post to wish everyone a merry Christmas.
As for what I've been upto, lots of sleep, looking at uni's again and working for 'quackers hosting'.
Nothing major to report really, will try get some palmnet based work done soon!

Shoutbox updates

Well I myself am truly shocked.
I have...done...work! And good work at that!
Anyway, it was only yesterday that I said I'd possibly get some work done to the shoutboxes, and I have.
Nothing to major, just altered the image rendering code so now I can place the shoutbox anywhere on any image. Which comes in handy for things like image maps.
Image mapping, for those of you who don't know, is a way of linking an image so wherever you click it, a script(or map) is called, and it knows where to go dependent on where you click the image.
Last night a guy asked me to make him a image mapped shoutbox, where the shoutbox was surrounded by mapped links.
Never one to disregard a challenged I did one Google search and looked over the questbar code and ended up 30 mins later going from This to This and This!
So yeah, work was done.
All I need to do now is finish v0.5 and release it and you can all get those sweet codes!

Well I have actually, well kinda, done what I said I was going to do. Work!
So far I have made a basic RSS reader in VB, but now porting it to ruby or python.
Now python, another bit of news! Python has become my new toy. Ruby is nice and all but python just seems to work alot better for me. So yup, expect some random python stuff soon!
I have been messing in php too, so I may get some stuff done tot he best site where I'm setting up Boast Machines as the new blogging engine while I have DeltaCMS on hiatus.
Oh, and the shoutbox script may get some work done on it too, if you go HERE Then you can see google have done a lot of work to their project hosting service, so I feel I should do what I said I would! Or at least have a go anyway.
Also Evolution-Online are doing some work, which will distract me from my own stuff for a while.
But that work = money, which in turn = stuff. And stuff is good!
So I'll post some more news soon, and maybe upload some python/ruby/vb/c++/c stuff too!

Phil keeps distracting me

Well on Friday night Phil distracted me, as per usual.
Only this time it was because we had an electric garage door fitted and we just couldn't resist toying with it

I was going to get to work, and was going to do all the work I've ever promised, but the pull of a garage door thats electric and operates via a keyring remote coupled with the joys of Phil, well I'm afraid I didn't do any work and we played with the door for probably going on 40mins.
Anyway, I'll try not to get distracted and do some work soon.
Also there is a new person interested in co-developing the shoutbox so some work may actually get done!

Other, non-work stuff

Well since my last post not a lot of work has been done. In fact, barely any.
It's not good, I know. But I do have my reasons. The main one was due to me being ill, which worsened a little over the past few days, but now getting back to speed again.
Also there are plenty of other things to distract me. Mainly just sleeping as it stands, but I have been out with the camera taking some pics of the floods round 'ere parts: My garden, My garden flooded more and The weir.
Also I have been piddling about with the camera and took this nice snap of my mp3 player:

Anyway, enough with the excuses! I will get down to some proper coding work soon. I plan to get the shoutbox done by Christmas, deltaCMS to have a database, Palmnet to run off boast machines and to also have something new, anything new even. Until then however you'll all just have to wait and hope I don't get distracted s'more!

Well I haven't been posting much for a number of reasons.
The main one being I'm lazy.
The others are more normal explanations, like me being ill(collapsed lung :S) and the fact I haven't really done much work recently.
The most work has been going into the shoutbox script. There was a slight bug that a user had, so after fixing that and updating it into version 0.4zeta I decided to get to work on 0.5.
Also I started to mess with boastmachines for the newer, more secure blog to hold this spot till deltacms comes out.
On a lighter note, me and Phil, also known as the evolution group, have been head hunted by the alphafrag team to develop some back end administrative and front end code for them and their site. This should be quite a challenge, and may take some priority over this site, but at least we might get paid!
Also HowToUseA.com is coming along great, some other users posting all sorts of random guide from how to use a plant to how to use Durex play :S Thanks for that guide Phil!
I shall report more as I get the boastmachines script customised for plamnets nefarious uses, in the mean time you can go post articles on HowToUseA from the link on the right.
