Huge catch-up post

First off, sorry for not posting in such a long time!
Anyway, while I haven't been posting I have been up to all sorts, so here's a generic post for anyone who reads this blog still, AKA Dan :P

Code News
Shocking as it may be, I've not done much to Spunge for a while now. Still, I only have the file manager to finish and the whole project is pretty much done. But I just have no drive lately to finish that file manager. Perhaps now it's Christmas I can use Spunge to distract me from revision.

Although the lack of work on Spunge isn't a shock, I have actually been doing some work on the next version of the shoutboxes!
I recently had a guy I know take my old source and try to update it with all the features I laid out on the HowToUseA wiki.
As he asked me questions about planned features and the old source I started thinking and planing things myself. Not much has been coded yet, but the bare bones of the previous version have already been written in half the code, and neater code too! Have an image to look at while I work on the rest:

I've also been playing with the GD library more recently and doing many a fancy thing with PHP, GD and this new thing I've been toying with called 'maths'. It's amazing what maths can do, and I'm still messing around with it to find out if I can actually find a use for this crazy combination.

Oh, and I also started messing about in Winamp with visualisations. Got some nifty ones on the go that use the mouse for an interactive visualisation, a-la Jeff Minter.

Non-Code News
Shockingly I do have a life off the internet and don't spend my life coding. Ok, I spend most of my life working on some code in one language or another, but there is more to my life...honest!
I'm currently at home, but under a week ago I was all the way in Loughborough at university, so have some nice photo's of me and the various things I've been up to and the people I know there.

Oh, and I'm still a bit of a geek in my normal life. Shockingly.
So imagine my joy when I heard we got a new TV at home while I was away at Uni. We now have gone from a pretty lame non HD 40inch rear projection from Sony to an awesomely massive 50inch HD plasma monster from samsung, and my-oh-my does Gears of War look pretty on it.

Anyway, I think this is now the biggest post I've ever done, so yay for that, even if it doesn't actually interest you.
Probably wont post until mid January now, so merry Christmas to all and a happy new year from Palmnet.

EDIT:
Wow! Just realised that the mostly dead project of the questbars has just toppled over the 30,000 hits peak. Rather impressive for me!
